Our Story
Born at the intersection of academia and industry, Beyond EPiC unites a team of researchers and practitioners who share one mission: to make environmental performance measurable, comparable, and actionable across every scale of the built environment.
The founders — Dr Robert Crawford, Dr André Stephan, and Dr James Helal — have spent their careers developing and refining the methods that underpin modern life cycle assessment. Together, they saw an opportunity to move beyond research papers, datasets and tool prototypes — to build a living, integrated ecosystem that empowers professionals worldwide to change the built environment.
Their collaboration transformed years of research into a platform that connects data, tools, and insights — enabling everyone shaping the built environment to design and inform actions within planetary boundaries, while continuing to innovate and inspire.
